Arlington Memorial Hospital is a full-service, acute care facility serving the residents of Arlington and the North Texas area. It has been in service since 1958.It is a 380-bed non-profit, community hospital dedicated to providing quality, compassionate health care. The staff in the hospital comprises about 550 physicians on the medical staff, 1,900 employees, and more than 300 volunteers.Started as a 75-bed hospital in 1958, Arlington Memorial Hospital is now famed as one of the most respected hospitals in the state. Over the years, the hospital continues to expand its facilities and services to meet the health care needs of the communities it serves.In 1997, Arlington Memorial Hospital joined Texas Health Resources, an organization that follows the same philosophies as Arlington Memorial.In 1999, a medical office building was opened, which included operating rooms, special procedure rooms, an emergency room, fitness center, diagnostic imaging center. and rehabilitation center.Key services provided by the hospital include comprehensive cardiac care, women's and children's services, an advanced imaging center, extensive rehabilitation services, emergency services, health maintenance, and disease prevention classes.In addition, the hospital also provides a wide range of inpatient services including respiratory therapy, social services, and dedicated nursing units for critical care, hemodialysis and plasmapheresis, medical, surgical, gynecology, pediatrics, oncology, neurology, and orthopedics.The hospital manages the Rex C. McRae Health Services Center- a certified mammography facility, an outpatient center for cardiovascular rehabilitation services, and the Arlington Memorial Hospital Fitness Center.Specialties include physical and occupational therapy, pediatrics, orthopedics and hand therapy, speech therapy, and nutrition counseling.Arlington Memorial Hospital is licensed by the Texas Department of Health. The hospital has won accreditation from authorized agencies such as Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO), College of American Pathologists, American College of Radiology, and they are certified for Medicare participants.
